Location, rates and guest details

Located near Myers Park, the hotel puts guests within walking distance of dining, shopping, entertainment and business areas. Accor lists its address as 5 Scotia Place, at the top of Queen Street near the University district.

According to Accor's listing, the City Rail Link (CRL) subway is a five-minute walk away, with SkyCity & Convention Centre, the Viaduct, Newmarket and Eden Park moments away via the CRL. The booking page gives the hotel a three-star rating and lists check-in from 3:00 PM and check-out by 10:00 AM.

Opening rates start at NZ$115 per night, subject to availability and applicable terms. Guests who join the ALL Accor loyalty program can earn points on eligible stays and use them for rewards, services and experiences.

An existing property joins the brand

Independent operator 1834 Hotels manages the property as well as the neighboring Mercure Auckland Queen Street. For owner Dr. Bryan Ngoi, the opening marks his second hotel partnership with Accor.

Accor's booking page retains the name "Ascotia" and a contact email bearing the Ascotia Off Queen name, indicating that the hotel occupies the former Ascotia Off Queen site.

Ngoi said greet pairs affordable accommodation, comfort and personality with access to Accor's global distribution network. He described its flexible conversion model as a way to renew an established hotel while improving the guest experience.

A focus on affordable essentials

The greet brand began in Beaune, France, in 2019. Its approach centers on reasonably priced stays with comfortable rooms, breakfast, Wi-Fi and friendly service, while giving interiors and guest experiences a local character.

Adrian Williams, Accor's chief operating officer for the Pacific region, said: "We're so excited to introduce greet to New Zealand, bringing a fresh approach to affordable hospitality to the Auckland market. At greet, the philosophy is simple: feeling good shouldn't cost a fortune."

Williams said the brand emphasizes a good night's sleep, welcoming service and value for money. He positioned the launch as another addition to Accor's New Zealand portfolio as the company expands and responds to changing traveler expectations.

Expansion in Europe and Asia-Pacific

Since its 2019 launch, greet has reached more than 45 hotels with about 3,300 rooms, with locations in France, Germany, Austria and Belgium among its markets. Accor plans more development in Europe and Asia-Pacific, including projects in Australia, Thailand, Greece, Spain and Poland.

Accor's brand page dates greet's first Asian opening, in Bangkok, to August 19, 2026. The brand entered the United Kingdom on October 13, 2026, with greet London Harlow in Harlow, Essex. Converted from an existing hotel, the 119-room property is described by Accor as greet's first in the UK.

The company also lists a forthcoming 65-room hotel near Alicante's beaches and historic waterfront in Spain. Accor identifies that planned opening as greet's Iberian debut.
